I’m using Avada theme and I’d like to add my blog page (which is a real page, not archive and for now not assigned in Settings > Reading) in the breadcrumbs.
As I’m not a boss with php, is it possible to require any help?
I’m looking for something like:
home > blog > parent category > child category 1 > child category 2 > child category n > post-title
I’ve disabled breadcrumbs in Avada and Yoast.
Tell me if you need to see my site, it is in maintenance (access with IP).
First, I’d really recommend using the core WP blog setting under Settings > Reading. That way, any plugins that need that particular information will properly work. Using a non-standard system breaks plugin functionality, even if you can’t see the results of the breakage.
Nevertheless, Breadcrumb Trail is going utilize your post permalinks that you’ve set in Settings > Permalinks in an attempt to build out your trail.
So, if you set your permalinks to /blog/%postname%, it’ll look for a page named blog to add to the trail and give you something like:
Home > Blog > Post Title
The only other way is to rebuild the permalink items with a custom filter. In order to do that, I’d need to know the ID of the page where your blog posts are.
