Allow non-user to upload files

  1. I have Members installed on a client site. This site also needs to allow anonymous users (or whatever the term for users who are not signed in) to be able to upload files via a web form. But, with Members activated, the ability for whomever to upload a file is disabled. I do not see an ‘anonymous’ role option within the Members to specifically allow that privilege.

    Any help?

WordPress doesn’t have a concept of an “anonymous” role or user. Members can only control capabilities (permissions) of roles in WordPress. And, because the concept of an anonymous role doesn’t exist in WordPress, this is outside the scope of Members.

There’s a reason WP doesn’t allow this sort of thing. Allowing anonymous visitors to your site to upload images is a huge security risk. I wouldn’t risk it.

I don’t know of any plugins offhand, but you’ll need to specifically search for a plugin that allows visitors to upload images.
