Widgets
There are several widgets included with the theme theme, which will give you an array of options to choose from.
To use them in your sidebar, go to your WordPress administration panel (dashboard). Then go to Design > Widgets. From there, you can select what widgets should go on what sidebar.
If a sidebar doesn’t have its own widgets, then it defaults to whatever widgets that have been added to Sidebar Home.
Here are a few options.
- Tabs
- Choose from a wide array of options to list in any of your four tabs.
- Ads
- Displays a section for your ads. You can set the image URL, image alt and title text, and the link URL to your advertiser’s website for up to four images.
- Video
- Shows a custom video from sites such as YouTube or Vimeo if you input the correct video embed URL. You can also set this as a custom field to show with your latest video posts. Choose a tag or category to display these from.
- Flickr
- Displays a feed of your latest Flickr photos. You need the Flickr RSS plugin for this to work.
- Recent
- Shows posts with a thumbnail and shortened excerpt. You have a number of options like showing posts by either latest or random, pulling posts from a selected category or tag, and setting the number of posts to display.
- Gallery Stream
- This widget displays your latest gallery post’s images. Choose which category or tag you want to display posts from. Please note that you need to have uploaded images using the WordPress image uploader for that particular post. Images must be attached.
- Subscribe
- Basic feed and email subscription links. You must set your feed URLs in the “Design > Options Settings” page. Note that this widget has been deprecated. It may be replaced or removed in future versions.
