Getting Started

Setting up the Old School theme should be easy. Before you do any of the below, you need to download and install (not activate) the Hybrid theme.

Here are the instructions for getting the theme to work:

Installing the Old School theme

  • Download the Old School theme (I’m assuming you’ve done this already).
  • Unzip the folder you downloaded.
  • Upload the old-school folder to your /wp-content/themes directory.

Your directory structure should look like this:

/wp-content
	/themes
		/old-school

Activating the Old School theme

Since you’re installing a child theme, don’t activate Hybrid. You need to activate the Old School theme.

  • Login into WordPress dashboard (administration).
  • Click on the Themes link (may be Appearance or Design in some WP versions).
  • Click on the screenshot for Old School.
  • Cick on “Activate Old School” (WP 2.6+).
