   This worked! Mine is at if( is_active_sidebar( 'utilityheader' ) && !is_page_template('no-widgets.php')) : but I was able to find it pretty fast. Thank you, Justin!

   Ok my issue is that i get no widgets only on the Front Page template. Every other page presents fine. What do I have to do to correct that. BTW, running 'hybid news' theme.

   Yes I did. But bieng a new to coding let me ask this, I changed

   but I didn't change
   ...should I change this line to match the above line?

   Justin,
   My error reads:

   Fatal error: Call to undefined function is_active_sidebar() in /home4/sbabgorg/public_html/wp-content/themes/hybrid-news/functions.php on line 109

   I went to to line 109, and found that the above suggestions were already incorporated into the version I downloaded . . . so I'm not sure what to try next.

   Any suggestions for me?

    This fix doesn't work for me - in fact the changes are already made in the version of News I downloaded.

    My front page doesn't show all the cool sh$t that I want with the slider, blah blah blah

    Very frustrating, I just paid $25 to see the contents of this post. Please help.

    When I look at Widgets in admin - all that shows is the box's title like "tertiary" and then no content below in any of the boxes. I imagine this is supposed to show something?

    news - unzipped folder once, postfixed "folder" by itself - unzipped again, no post fix, theme working better. But still no widgets showing in admin. Maybe it's a different issue, but "Widget area not showing?" sounds about right to me...

    I've also reunzipped and uploaded hybrid - the main one.

    The issue I'm experiencing is my widgets disappearing after using the hybrid themes. The categories widget is now not in the widget list.

    I used hybrid (0.5 -> 0.6) on my site with the Leviathan child theme and hybrid tabs. Now I have switched to a different theme. I deactivated hybrid tabs plugin and when I tried to add the widgets back in the sidebar 'Categories' wasn't there. I have checked with the default WP theme, same problem. If I switch back to the hydrid (no child theme just Hybrid 0.6) I see the categories widget (but it says "Advanced widget..." in the description, so not sure if that's the stock standard Categories or not). I've had problems all along with hybrid and child themes when it comes to the widgets. Whenever I have switched to another theme the widgets in use with hybrid are not freed up to be available in for the new theme and they don't appear by default (even if they were only in the Primary widget area).
