How to get slimbox/lightbox, flash video player, and IE working together?

  1. I don't know how many of you are aware, but the combination of slimbox and the plugin, Flash Video Player, does not work when the website is viewed in IE. I've researched this quite a bit, and the problem seems to be that mootools and swf or something like that don't work right in Internet Explorer.

So, either I don't use Slimbox, or I can't embed videos into my posts. While there are a zillion plugins that allow you to embed a youtube video in the post, Flash Video Player is the only (actively supported) plugin that allows you to embed a local video in your posts (i.e. a video file stored on your website). So I need both plugins. Without Slimbox, it's a pain to navigate through a gallery of dozens of pictures. And I need some kind of video player.

The following explanation is some really technical stuff about this issue I don't really understand. I wonder if it's possible for anyone to come up with a solution that is understandable? Maybe a step by step instruction on how to make it work? Thanks.

It's not that I use IE, but a lot of people looking at my website do. And they're not computer people, so I'm not about to convince them to use Firefox.

  3. Would you be able to tell me which one of those would be compatible with IE and Flash Video player?

Also, I know your themes have slimbox support built in. How difficult would it be to replace it with one of the ones you listed above? I know Thickbox is already included in your instructions post.

Furthermore, if mootools is having problems with Flash Video Player, wouldn't I still have problems since the Features Gallery uses mootools?

It's no big deal if this is not easy to answer or fix. If so, I'm just going to ignore it for the time being. One thing I'm surprised about while I've done all this is:
--Why there's isn't an super easy solution yet.
--Why is there only ONE wordpress plugin that plays embedded videos (stored on your own website)?
