maybe my opinion was not clear.. I think that Hybrid built-in SEO is a very good thing but you have also give us the ability to re-use meta tags set with it with an other theme.. :-)

You are free to use a separate plugin for SEO. That's never been an issue.

I'm still undecided on whether I'll release a separate plugin.

My doubt still remain: do I have to continue to use Hybrid built-in SEO or a separate plugin for my new posts? I mean, If I was sure that Justin will release a plugin that can take meta tags set with Hybrid I will continue to use Hybrid built-in SEO.. :-)

Re-reading my sentence I think it may have also sounded said like I didn't want the plugin. Yep, the early majority don't want it, but more and more people are thinking it might be a good idea.

Personally, I like the idea of a separate plugin because I can add in many more options, it makes Hybrid more compatible with all kinds of SEO plugins, it can be developed separately, and users can use their data with other themes if they ever choose to use another theme.

The majority of folks don't want to see a separate plugin, which is the direction I was leaning.

The majority of folks belong to the early majority, while you are an innovator ;)
There is always scepticism to change...

Ok, I read the discussion.. In my opinion it should be better to release a plugin that take meta tags created with Hybrd and restore them in case you change theme..

No, you wouldn't lose the data. It would still exist. You'd just have to find a way to make it show up again.

I opened up this discussion here:

Hi Justin, Hybrid is a very good SEO theme but if one day I will change my theme (you know, only diamonds are forever,..) I will loose every meta tags set with Hybrid theme (description, title, keywords..). If so, this is not good..

Is it correct what I say? If yes, I think that is better to use a plugin for SEO..

Thanks. I like to think of Hybrid as a theme that enables you to rank well. It won't do the work for you, but it will pave the road with semantic markup and best practices. What it all comes down to is your content. So, the content must be pretty good if you've been indexed that quickly. ;)

I just want to commend you Justin on Hybrid. So many things I love about it, and it's helped me learn more about coding, because its so fun to work with. Today I created a post on my site for clients, mainly a post about SEO. I build sites for antique dealers and I treat my site as if it were an antique site, so my post was a product, an "elegant French marble top table", in 4 hours it was on page 1 near the bottom, and "French marble top table" was first on page 8. I know this is because of the meta data added through hybrid. No other theme I've worked with has had this kind of indexing. "French side table" is on page one, number 7. I don't even have many visitors to my site but pages are being indexed well. Keep up the great work!
