Okay, disclaimer: I'm not looking at your code (and compared to Justin I'm a rookie) so this is only a possible starting point.

Have you tried using
display: inline
in your CSS? This outputs lists (like your subcategories) in a horizontal line. Then you'd need to adjust the margins and padding to get it to appear below the nav bar.

I think he just wants the cat menu to display the child cats when the parent cat has children, as the css menus he has offered as examples and hover menus

eg

cat1 > cat2 > cat3>

cat1 > cat2 selected > cat3>
cat2 child cat 1> cat2 child cat2> cat2 child cat3>

maybe I'm wrong...

Hi Justin,

Ok, for the question...

I like Hybrid theme.... However I don't like drop-down menus.

I want this effect: http://www.wired.co.uk/news/science.aspx

I don't code. I was wondering if you have an idea how.

Thank

Kim.

I honestly don't know how to code the CSS rules for that type of menu. If you have something I could start from, I'd be happy to test it and see if I can fix any issues with it.

Hi Justin,

Instead of the drop down menus, I want to create a hover horizontal drop down below the cat-nav menu. So, it displays the sub-categories. Mine will be no more than 1 or max 2 deep.

Also, once the category is selected, I want the horizontal menu to appear under the cat-nav menu.

Something like this:
http://www.wired.co.uk/news/science.aspx

How can I achieve this using the hybrid news theme?

Thx

Indi
