Quotations are good for your soul

In this post, I’ll be showing you the beauty of using quotations in your blog posts. You’ll get to see not only blockquotes but pull quotes as well. Who says the Web can’t look as good as print.

I still find each day too short for all the thoughts I want to think, all the walks I want to take, all the books I want to read, and all the friends I want to see.

~ John Burroughs

Johnny always told some great stuff. Man, he had all kinds of stories, jokes, and quotes to tell folks. You couldn’t go anywhere without him tryin’ to make the day better for anyone. Take that time he was telling Betty something important.

Betty, you need to listen to this here sayin’ I once heard from one of the greatest men alive.

There is a tide in the affairs of men. Which, taken at the flood, leads on to fortune. But omitted, and the voyage of their life is bound in shallows and miseries. On such a full sea are we now afloat, and we must take the current when it serves — or lose the ventures before us.

There neva’ was a better sayin’ than that. I’d bet my life on it.

Quotations can really spice up your site, but you don’t want to overdo them like I am in this example post. It could be a disaster. You want to use them cautiously, yet you should use them imaginatively.

Now, Katherine Anne Porter, she knew what she was talkin’ about. Katherine once said, “There seems to be a kind of order in the universe…in the movement of the stars and the turning of the Earth and the changing of the seasons. But human life is almost pure chaos. Everyone takes his stance, asserts his own right and feelings, mistaking the motives of others, and his own.”

She was definitely known to throw out a good quote or two on occasion.
