Welcome, guest!

The community forums are currently being phased out. At the end of February or early March 2012, you will no longer be able to post here. This is because the entire site is being restructured. Please use the main forums for discussions.

What page templates would you like to see?

  1. It actually should show any member profile.

I understand what you're asking now though. I thought you were talking about individual users, but you're talking about an entire list. That would be really cool, and I'd definitely like to add something like that. Might be the best idea I've heard yet.

  2. :-) Cool

  3. I would like to see a magazine cover template. Basically a page that would have post titles listed on either side of the page, a link to the main page as a table of contence and a changeable background image.

  4. One thing I'm really trying not to focus on is adding any additional templates that are about form (style/layout/structure/design). It becomes a styling nightmare when trying to handle that with multiple child themes.

However, some child themes may feature what you might call a magazine-style page template, like the Old School theme does. Since WP 2.7 is out, this is a lot easier to do with child themes.

The focus should be on function over form when it comes to extra page templates though.

  5. Hybrid version 0.4 will include these page templates:

    * Profile (allow editing of users' profiles)

    * Excerpts (just excerpts of the latest posts)

    * Sitemap (complete XHTML sitemap of links to every page, post, and archive on your site)

I'm still toying with the Members page template, but it's going to take a lot longer. I don't think I'll be able to get it into 0.4.

  6. I'm testing out the new Excerpts page template on the front page of my blog right now:

  7. Would it be possible to include your new bookmarks page template with the 0.4 release?
I realize end users would have to edit it to use the correct category number.

  8. The Bookmarks page template is already included in Hybrid.

  9. Somehow I missed that -blush- thanks Justin

  10. Justin recently launched some pretty awesome new page templates for Hybrid: http://themehybrid.com/support/topic/cool-new-page-templates-for-the-hybrid-theme

But what about a two and three column widget template?

The two column could be evenly divided for the entire width and the three column could divide the content area in two.

  11. I'd love a blank page template. No header, no footer, no styling. A template that only displays the page title and content. Cool if you want to use a pages (with contact forms for example) in modal dialogs.

  12. Gotta second Jan on this since I asked for a solution in the forum.

  13. A page template where a visitor can write a post (title, content, picture upload) and be created as a user (contributor) in the same page (punching in username and email).

  14. @ Thomas
You could probably do that with Gravity Forms and some custom coding. I believe user registration will be part of the next release.

  15. I have bought Gravity Forms, and it's great. But I think the posting from the form is a hassle (from an editor point of view).

And I thought a more simple approach would be great.
