To link the title. To not link the title.

  2. I have wondered why on the posts & pages that the link was included as you were already on the post or page. I haven't tried switching to just the title without the link so don't know if it would make any difference SEO wise as I am delighted with the SEO results & didn't want to mess with them.
However, using Options & Spartan, when viewing a post attachment, I would like to see the link but for it to link back to the post rather than the attachment you are viewing, but then again maybe that should be something that can be done by using breadcrumbs on the attachment page...

  3. Linked, please, if only because it's the convention that most blogs use---but like Dave, I wonder why.

  5. I feel cheated when I'm hovering over a breadcrumb and when I reach the title I can't click on it, because it's the active page.

I actually like to click on links, and because of this I also like to click on titles if it's clickable. It just feels right ;-)

For me it all comes down to similar behavior. I want things to act alike. If I'm on the frontpage I can click on the home link, eventhough it just resreshes the page (but something might have happened in the last 5 minutes, that I just can't live without). The same with a page where I might have commented, instead of just pressing F5 I can press the title, and see now there's another comment...

The great post is the new frontpage :-)

    EDIT:
Why not add a heatmap to your http://www.justintadlock.com where I can see that we can click on titles.

  7. I hate self linking pages - but looks likes I'm in the minority, so I'll keep changing them manually :)
I stopped using them after server logs showed a couple of SE getting caught in a loop, requesting the same page repeatedly. PR did improve but that could just be coincidence or algo change.

  10. No problem - I generally change the byline & post meta so I'll be editing the files anyway.

Could let us know whether any code in template files has changed when you do updates & if we need to redo the child theme.

I did think about asking for byline & postmeta to be done as includes so it would be easier change - but then arranged them differently on 2 templates within a day so realised how pointless that would be. I'm trying to get templates made to match what I already have so I'm ready for 2.7.
