Rebuilt spigotdesign.com with Hybrid Core and HTML5 « Community

Welcome, guest!

Feel free to read the blog, browse for themes, or join the club.

The community forums are currently being phased out. At the end of February or early March 2012, you will no longer be able to post here. This is because the entire site is being restructured. Please use the main forums for discussions.

Rebuilt spigotdesign.com with Hybrid Core and HTML5

  1. I've recently rebuilt my own portfolio site starting with a Hybrid Core Skeleton theme that's essentially a stripped down version of Prototype.

It's been pure joy working with Hybrid Core and interacting directly with the parent theme than through a child.

    Notes on the development:

    • Hybrid Core Framework
    • Written in HTML5, with the help of HTML5 ★ Boilerplate (http://html5boilerplate.com/)
    • Media query responsiveness (currently working on the Front and Work pages only)

  2. That's beautiful. Very well done. Love the texture and badge menu.

  3. Lovely site, Bryan.

Slick, clean and professional. Nice attention to detail.

    Just a couple of things:
    1. on the home page, the d,d,s,h icons are links that just link to the home page again. Also would be nice if they showed a tooltip saying what they mean. I know they represent the 4 main services but it's an easy thing to do and adds to usability.
    2. the rollover on the main service badges bothers me a little just because it shrinks and the image becomes a blurry. Might be just me...

  4. Thanks for the kind words BrianK and, Robert for the constructive criticism.

I agree with you on both accounts - The missing links were an oversight, and transitions on the badges weren't animating as intended. The tooltip idea would be a very nice touch, and I'll be implementing it soon.
