Background: At the beginning of the year, I decided to give a shot at creating a site that does a better job of promoting musician Patty Griffin than her official site does. I knew that accomplishing the purpose would not be very difficult, but I wasn't sure how the site would be structured. It was by chance that I came across Justin's themes and originally considered using an Options-based theme. When Justin moved his emphasis to Hybrid-based themes I thought it might be wiser to go that direction as well, and I'm very glad I did because consideration of the Hybrid News child made me realize that musicians are best promoted through news stories and, in particular, new about performances and news about recordings. The Hybrid News theme was perfect, and it actually drove how the content was arranged. As a result, relatively few modifications of the basic Hybrid News theme were made, and all of those are cosmetic. Although not a modification, I decided to use a featured video post as the only post appearing in the excerpt section.
