Managing translation on Theme Hybrid

  1. Hi Justin

I have a little suggestion to manage the translations. I've used Limesurvey a lot, and they have this script:
    http://limesurvey.svn.sourceforge.net/viewvc/limesurvey/source/other_scripts/translation_status

    running here:
http://www.limesurvey.org/en/contribute/translations-status it looks pretty nice I think, and it could set more focus on this important task of translating stuff.

I would be happy to help any way I can.

  3. Nope, and to think of it, maybe something along these lines would be better:

Each version number could be a download link to that specific translation.

Although that would demand a separate page called translations. And in the future probably a separation of themes and plugins (given the speed in which you publish new great stuff).

This would (hopefully) also inspire people to do the translations that were missing.

  4. Just wanted to update this idea, with this fantastic tool that the people at Automattic have made: http://blog.glotpress.org the Danish WordPress community have used it to translate their WordPress language files. It looks like it's downloadable here: http://trac.glotpress.org I think it would be fantastic to have it running here at Theme Hybrid for all Justins great plugins and themes.

It also has a nice integration with Google Translate, which makes it much faster to do translations :-)

  6. The way you write the word this, makes me think one of two things:
    1. that you're teaming up with another framework creator to make this endeavor even more fantastic.
    2. that you're making a Ian Stewart of sorts.

But now I'm soooo looking forward to hearing what's in store...

  7. Haha, you are really into figuring out puzzels aren't you Thomas? Thomas Wallander :)
