I have a question that needs quick attention. A new plugin or version of a plugin is coming out soon. I just wanted some last-minute feedback.
I've been plugging away at a plugin based off the original Hybrid Hook plugin. This new plugin is completely widgetized.
Hybrid Hook
If you're unfamiliar with this plugin, it basically allows you to add content from a control panel anywhere on your site using Hybrid's action hooks. You can add XHTML, PHP, JavaScript, whatever.
I'd say it's pretty cool.
Hybrid Hook Widgets
Hybrid Hook is cool, but it's still a bit limiting. What I've been doing is taking all of the input boxes from the original plugin and turning them into widget areas.
Some pros for the new version:
- It's widget ready! 'nough said. ;)
- Ability to interface with other plugins like Widget Logic and Widget Context.
- Ability to use Hybrid's built-in widgets all over the place.
It's much cooler than the original.
My question to you
Should the new version just be called Hybrid Hook: Version 0.2 or should I make it a completely separate plugin with a new name?
I like the idea of just making this version 0.2 because, when this is released, the original Hybrid Hook will be pretty much obsolete.
