Help redesign Theme Hybrid

   I've been planning to redesign Theme Hybrid for some time, but I keep changing things over and over. I think I've finally settled with a design that's both true to the look we have now but also fresh. A friend of mine helped push me in the right direction.

   Here's what the new home page design currently looks like:

   I still have two slots that I need to fill. What do you think should go there?

   I'll probably upload new screenshots over the next week of different sections of the site as I redesign them.

   What things could be changed about the current site (blog, forums, showcase, whatever) would make your life simpler?

   If you were designing the structure of Theme Hybrid, how would you do it?

   1. Two Slots - may be some theme statistics (No of downloads) and user testimonial.

   2. There should be a general forum for all the general questions on which all should be allowed to start and reply to the topic.
   For example : I am interested in answering the following questions in support forums.But I Can't.
   a) Help with Options Mobile Phone Display
   b) What software do you use?
   these questions are not support questions anyway.

   3. A centralised location for your codes.
   For example , if a user asks for some specific codes in the support forum (hybrid holly grail css layout, inserting ad in header, how to remove header images on some pages and so on....) you can write them all in a specific place and point them to that page.

   Looking good

   I think child themes should come up under the themes they belong to (maybe also the downloadstatistics).

   - I would love to see recent comments from the forum
   - Recent comments on the site

   Justin,since buddypress beta is around the corner (on dec 15th) (i am playing it from the trunk anyway and i love it) is there anything in your roadmap soon for a buddypress theme ?

   While those questions, may not be support questions, we still talk about that type of stuff in the forums. The only two sections in the community forums I think I'll be adding is a Language/translation forum and a general Theme Hybrid usage forum (how to upgrade membership, sign up, pre-sale questions and such).

   BuddyPress is a possibility, but it's not a priority. I've played around with it a bit but not enough to be completely familiar with it. I could see myself potentially making a theme or two for it. The main focus here is on single-install versions of WordPress.

   We have centralized locations for code — the tutorials for each theme.

   I thought the exact same thing about the child themes being under the parent theme just after I uploaded the image.

   Very striking front page - much more visually appealing to me than your existing front page.

   I would like to see latest support topics/comments as the support area is the first place I go and where I spend most of my time.

   Looks like you may need to fill in more than 2 areas with your announcement re 31 January 2009?

   My only problem with adding the feed from the support forums on the front page is how messy it actually gets. The links end up being really, really long and messy.

   Maybe I should just feature a few themes on the front page instead of all those links.

   Probably right - clean and simple with the bold colours usually looks best!
