I am working on a new project for a 5 star accommodation in the Catskills. Of course Hybrid. After looking at many spectacular designs for inspiration, from all the best hotels in the world, everything pointed me to doing this in WordPress. I have started from o'l skel and this will evolve because there is no rush and the people are great.
So here is a start. I would love to hear any input and I would like to offer a version here for download.

I am not really a fan of these list posts, but they can be handy when you're working on something similar. Here's one that you might find some inspiration from:

I think there'd be some value in getting some professional photos done. The shadow on the bottom left of the main picture for example, looks a bit shoddy. Same with the footer. Check out the photography for most of the sites. As with almost any site, I really think photography can make a big difference.
Also in agreement with Justin on the header, but otherwise I think the general layout is nice.
Well I decided to use Structure as this needed to come together fast, it probably took me a day once I had the PSD. It is still a work in progress but looks exactly as it was designed from the PSD and they love it so that's what counts. These people are real history buffs so there will also be a nice blog section once things get rolling.
I have become a real stickler on keeping things valid so from that perspective I felt good about it. Except for one Event Calender plugin which I hope to replace in another manner, without a plugin.

I like it, it captures a comfortable charm and character about the place. I also like all the pics because that will capture a customers attention more than a lot of reading will....maybe you have a few too many pics of food...:) that would be my only concern.
