Thu, 17 Dec 2009 08:43:48 +0000PegasusTeam2283@http://themehybrid.com/community/
I finally got around to switching my stepson's reggae band website over to Hybrid and a child theme. I chose the Structure - Hybrid version because it was the easiest to work with and accomplish what I wanted to do.

My main goal was to get their music up front on the main page as well as their demo CD, while still having a "fun" site. I used the Hybrid Hook widget plugin to create a widget using the before container hook. I then added transparent background to the container allowing the background image to show through.

My graphics on the brick wall aren't the best but, the band likes it. I hope you do to.

I didn't see that you also offered your work in this forum. I didn't want to burden you with a personal request. But, if you want to do it, you're in first place ... let me know what it'll cost me.

Volkher

P.S.: Not to slip on my own slime trail, but "Structure" is/was the first thing I was happy with (continuously). It lets me concentrate on posting instead of worrying about the design. That thing runs smooooothly and I haven't had a single burp since I installed it. I'm just scared of running into update problems along the way if I don't ditch the old code. I've updated WP regularly (also without a single burp on the Structure side of things) and just need to put 2.8 into place this weekend.

Fri, 12 Jun 2009 10:24:15 +0000Volkher Hofmann1391@http://themehybrid.com/community/
Hello everyone,

I've been a huge fan of Justin's work and have re-subscribed here because in the end, I always turn to his work when I want to get things done. Whatever I've used of Justin's, it's always worked 100% for me, without fail!

If you remember me from past posts (quite a while back), I run livingwithmusic.com, a site for music collectors who are looking for ways to add to, manage, store and display their sizable collections. Usually I just ramble on about music. I also have some high-profile posts which have top positions (#1 - #5) in Google (around the globe).

I do not earn any money with my blog but am considering adding small ads to my site within the next 12 months.

My site is a part-time hobby to alleviate my day-job stress.

I also have a serious eye condition which simply doesn't allow me to do any extensive designing, layouting, tweaking, etc. anymore. I use all my online time for keeping my blog running.

a) Job:

I'm looking for someone to port http://livingwithmusic.com from the old "Structure" theme to the new "Theme Hybrid". I use very basic functionality only.

No changes, nothing added ... just a 1:1 port.

a) I'm going to update to WP 2.8 this weekend.

b) Plugins running on my site:
- All in One SEO Pack 1.5.5
- Clean Archives Reloaded 3.1.8
- Google XML Sitemaps 3.1.3
- HTML Special Characters Helper 1.0
- No Flash Uploader 1.1
- No Self Pings 0.2
- Popularity Contest 1.3b3
- Secure and Accessible PHP Contact Form v.2.0WP B20070414
- Semmelstatz 3.1 (age old stats prog that does what I need)
- Spam Karma 2 2.3 rc4
- Subscribe To Comments 2.1.2
- WordPress Database Backup 2.2.2
- WordPress Exploit Scanner 0.4
- WP Security Scan 2.6
- Yet Another Related Posts Plugin 3.0.6

Some of the above might be redundant by now and could be taken out?

That's it, really.

BTW: I'm not interested in threaded comments (or any new stuff).
I just need a 1:1 port.

b) Contact:

If you are interested in doing the job, contact me via zerotolerance01@googlemail.com. Please put "Job: Porting livingwithmusic.com" into the about field. Thanks.

Of course, I'd like to know from you what you would charge to get the job completed and how long it might take. It should be relatively easy, but I haven't kept up with recent changes in WP to be able to determine how easy or difficult it might be.

c) Addendum:
If I choose you for the job, you will get full access to my site to do what you need to do. Because images, paths, etc are in place, no graphic work etc. is required.

d) Payment:

I'd prefer to pay via PayPal. I hail from Germany, so in many cases bank transfers etc. cost too much.

Looking forward to hearing from you. Please allow for a few days until I reply. I'm in my state capital for an important conference all week but check my mail regularly.

I am by no means any good at coding, and am a self-taught web designer. I really love Justin's themes, especially for someone who attempts to understand coding and design who has had no formal training. I have learned a lot from his websites, and am very happy with his concept of a theme club, and have found the membership fee to be some of the best money I've spent!

Only CSS and functions.php have been personalized e.g.:
- Header contains two different images (transparent images)
- Choosen widget blocks instead of home inserts due to way better flexibility.
- Sidebar widgets and widget blocks have different layouts.
- Main Navigation have background images.
- Tabs have background images.
- Only custom field for Video is used.
- Various sections have right- and bottom- borders attempting to make it look like shadows.
- Added CSS elements from Hybrid
- Changed the STRONG element from traditional Bold style to background coloring.
and so on...
