We have a small budget, but also not a really great sense of how much time/work it would take to implement this on our site. If the two aren't compatible let me know.
Here is the initial query:

Is this header / primary menu style (the custom-colored tabs with the highlighter showing which page you're on) possible with Hybrid News? We particularly like that the tabs overlap (almost identical to Google Chrome tabs) and that they are aligned right vis a vis the main content column.

Please see the screenshot of my illustrator mock-up here (the text of this question is there too):

I really appreciate any help, and if you know of someone who could do this for us relatively quickly/cheaply, we have a timeline, and learning to do this right now is not feasible for me given the time frame.

Thank you. Please email me at opticliff[at]gmail[dot]com.

-Zeke

Reply by:

Justin Tadlock (Administrator)
Posted 7 hours ago | Permalink

Yes, that's possible with any list of links.

If you want to hire someone to design/code this for you, there's a jobs board here:

hamilel5 on "WordPress Site Designer: Emily Hamilton" Thu, 14 Jul 2011 15:51:49 +0000 hamilel5 3627@
If you are looking for a clean & unique website (from a WordPress base) that will allow you to manage your online content as your business/blog continues to grow please contact me!

I have been working with WordPress sites for about 4 years now and typically flat fee most of my projects for around $350. I run a multi-author blog () that has very strong columns but is dependent on my voice to hold it together.

I created my current look before being introduced to Hybrid and am now looking to get it switched over ASAP. I'm very fluent in CSS but need help when it comes to creating custom php templates.

What I'd like is this:

*a primary.php template for my child theme that will display my logo & about widget - then display my columnists names (linking back to their own site) with the latest post in their column directly below their name with the post thumbnail, and finally call for the dynamic sidebar so that the rest is widgetized.

*a blog.php template for the home page that will display my latest post at the top and then the rest of the posts in the timeline below that.

I can take care of styling everything and installation. It lets me concentrate on posting instead of worrying about the design. That thing runs smooooothly and I haven't had a single burp since I installed it. I'm just scared of running into update problems along the way if I don't ditch the old code. I've updated WP regularly (also without a single burp on the Structure side of things) and just need to put 2.8 into place this weekend.
Volkher Hofmann on "Port from "Structure" to "Theme Hybrid"" Fri, 12 Jun 2009 10:24:15 +0000 Volkher Hofmann 1391@
Hello everyone,

I've been a huge fan of Justin's work and have re-subscribed here because in the end, I always turn to his work when I want to get things done. It should be relatively easy, but I haven't kept up with recent changes in WP to be able to determine how easy or difficult it might be.

c) Addendum:
If I choose you for the job, you will get full access to my site to do what you need to do. Because images, paths, etc are in place, no graphic work etc. is required.

d) Payment:

I'd prefer to pay via PayPal. I hail from Germany, so in many cases bank transfers etc. cost too much.

Looking forward to hearing from you. Please allow for a few days until I reply.
