Nevertheless, I don't see it moving to use HTML5-only markup anytime soon. It really offers no benefit to most users and would most likely break some child themes. If a large enough portion of the Hybrid theme users wanted to make that move (80%+) now, I could see this as being something to consider.

Now, as far as the Hybrid Core framework goes, it has nothing to do with HTML.

As for CSS3, I'm not sure what you're asking about. You can use any version of CSS you want.
Chris Aprea on "Hybrid Theme Update (HTML 5?)" http://themehybrid.com/community/topic/hybrid-theme#post-3522 Wed, 20 Apr 2011 11:40:14 +0000 Chris Aprea 3522@http://themehybrid.com/community/
Hi All,

I'm planning on trying my hand at some wordpress theme development and I'm looking at a few different frameworks at the moment. I was just wondering if there's any plans on updating the core hybrid framework to take advantage of some of the newer web technologies like HTML 5 and CSS3 (from the hybrid demo i noticed it's not using the HTML 5 doctype nor any of it's new features).

Looks quite amazing so far though, very polished.

- Chris
Michael Garmahis on "Hybrid framework child theme developer" http://themehybrid.com/community/topic/hybrid-framework-child-theme-developer#post-3434 Tue, 15 Feb 2011 18:55:06 +0000 Michael Garmahis 3434@http://themehybrid.com/community/
If you're good at Hybrid framework, I invite your to bid on this project:
http://www.freelancer.com/projects/944050.html
JohnnyPea on "What I coded on Hybrid "parent theme" :)" http://themehybrid.com/community/topic/what-i-coded-on-hybrid-parent-theme#post-3252 Tue, 31 Aug 2010 10:24:46 +0000 JohnnyPea 3252@http://themehybrid.com/community/
I like the "Hybrid" a lot and I think it is one of the best frameworks (parent theme s whatever) on the market. Is it the amount of theme settings in the WordPress admin? Theme Hybrid doesn't have a lot of settings, but it is very educational. I've learned a lot about how WordPress really works and I'm learning to write my own simple PHP functions. Something I wouldn't have seen myself doing a year ago. So instead of making life "easier" with dozens of theme options, it teaches you how to code and style your own theme modifications. This keeps the framework clean and understandable. So for me, ease of use, doesn't really mean anything until someone explains what it means for theme frameworks.

Besides that: what really matters is the ease of use for website visitors. This really got much better since I started using Hybrid.
Justin Tadlock on "Free usability advice for the Hybrid framework" http://themehybrid.com/community/topic/free-usability-advice-for-the-hybrid-framework#post-2304 Mon, 21 Dec 2009 13:51:03 +0000 Justin Tadlock 2304@http://themehybrid.com/community/
I always appreciate feedback on things like this, especially in comparison to other themes. But, those numbers only tell so much. When I see 2/5 for ease-of-use, it doesn't tell me anything. What's more important is why that score was given and how it could be improved.

If certain things need to be easier to use, let me know specifics and how to make them better.
Thomas Clausen on "Free usability advice for the Hybrid framework" http://themehybrid.com/community/topic/free-usability-advice-for-the-hybrid-framework#post-2303 Mon, 21 Dec 2009 09:24:31 +0000 Thomas Clausen 2303@http://themehybrid.com/community/
Maybe ThemeHybrid can get some great ideas here: http://www.problogdesign.com/wordpress/a-comparison-of-6-popular-wordpress-frameworks I think Angie has a point when she measures these things:
Ease of Use: 2/5
GPL Licensed: yes
Power of Framework: 5/5
Number of Wiget-Ready Areas: 9
Documentation: 5/5

If Hybrid could optimize Ease of Use, then it would be great of I think.
stadlock on "The ThemeWeaver - My other site" http://themehybrid.com/community/topic/the-themeweaver-my-other-site#post-2289 Sat, 19 Dec 2009 16:25:33 +0000 stadlock 2289@http://themehybrid.com/community/
Very nice!
Wardeh on "HS Home Staging" http://themehybrid.com/community/topic/hs-home-staging#post-2281 Thu, 17 Dec 2009 03:47:43 +0000 Wardeh 2281@http://themehybrid.com/community/
I like it!
dhavaljani on "HS Home Staging" http://themehybrid.com/community/topic/hs-home-staging#post-2276 Wed, 16 Dec 2009 04:49:20 +0000 dhavaljani 2276@http://themehybrid.com/community/
nicely done! love the color scheme and clean modern design:)
Lynne Robson on "Green Goth Girl (NSFW)" http://themehybrid.com/community/topic/green-goth-girl-nsfw#post-2272 Tue, 15 Dec 2009 18:33:05 +0000 Lynne Robson 2272@http://themehybrid.com/community/
Thank you...
steupz on "Green Goth Girl (NSFW)" http://themehybrid.com/community/topic/green-goth-girl-nsfw#post-2270 Tue, 15 Dec 2009 17:47:39 +0000 steupz 2270@http://themehybrid.com/community/
Looks pretty good
Lynne Robson on "HS Home Staging" http://themehybrid.com/community/topic/hs-home-staging#post-2268 Tue, 15 Dec 2009 16:49:55 +0000 Lynne Robson 2268@http://themehybrid.com/community/
Our latest project...
http://www.hshomestaging.com/
Lynne Robson on "Green Goth Girl (NSFW)" http://themehybrid.com/community/topic/green-goth-girl-nsfw#post-2267 Tue, 15 Dec 2009 16:48:42 +0000 Lynne Robson 2267@http://themehybrid.com/community/
Site development project for advocacy and support group.
Parental Warning: Site contains information about Medical Marijuana in Canada.
