I'm using Prototype as the parent theme and created my own child theme, which is cleverly titled "Stylish Theme". My site is a blog all about frugal living, with style.

Please check it out. I'd appreciate any feedback.
Thanks,
Sara
Thomas Clausen on "Add a real showcase" Mon, 13 Sep 2010 18:05:43 +0000 Thomas Clausen 3277@
It would be cool to see your list, so that we don't come up with stuff already on your roadmap ;-) But nice to hear that you're on it.
Justin Tadlock on "Add a real showcase" Mon, 13 Sep 2010 05:31:42 +0000 Justin Tadlock 3276@
I've got a ton of changes for things like this planned in the future. A lot of it is waiting for the new DevPress site to get off the ground. I know I'm always being a bit vague about planned changes to this site, but so much of it hinges on getting DevPress launched. But, I still can't give away too many details about those changes. Some of them can't even happen until the dust finally settles and some decisions are made about the two sites.

I'm thinking about January, I'm going to be able to do a complete site refresh with all new features. It's just going to take some time.

Keep the ideas coming though. A better showcase has been on my list for months as I plan to merge the Showcase forum and the Showcase blog into a single entity.

Thomas Clausen on "Add a real showcase" Thu, 09 Sep 2010 07:54:21 +0000 Thomas Clausen 3265@
It's not often that I make it onto the Showcase part of the forums. And that's a shame. There are so many cool customizations of your themes Justin. I think you should think about making a page where future (and existing) users could see what is possible with this great framework. Kind of like your page-thumbnail-archive.php template maybe even with an opportunity to rate them.

I know these wouldn't necessarily be downloadable themes, but it would be great inspiration for new as well as existing users to see this.
Aris on "New Child Themes Available-Angelou" Sat, 10 Jul 2010 05:07:27 +0000 Aris 3163@
Still not working with Hybrid 0.8 final!

I found a quick and dirty hack : it's simply to remove the call to
hybrid_content_wrapper
in
foot.php
and
header.php
files.
companyv on "Winchell : Another New Set of child themes are available" Mon, 05 Jul 2010 01:15:10 +0000 companyv 3145@
Hi Nice - but there is an error - not sure if you are aware:

'WordPress database error Table 'crazy_20548.wp_wp_eStore_cat_prod_rel_tbl' doesn't exist for query SELECT * FROM wp_wp_eStore_cat_prod_rel_tbl where cat_id=2 made by require, require_once, include, the_content, apply_filters, call_user_func_array, eStore_print_products_from_category, show_products_from_category '
Aris on "New Child Themes Available-Angelou" Fri, 18 Jun 2010 05:03:35 +0000 Aris 3127@
Not working now with Hybrid 0.8 (beta 2). Some thoughts:

1 - maybe use a different colour for the the oranges you have in the content area (sidebar dotted border, and the thumbnail border). Can't remember where I read it, but at some point I read that using the overall background colour within the content is not a great thing to do in design (although it's certainly something I've been guilty of).

2 - The orange/teal dashed bottom border/image in the footer seems a bit forced to me - I think getting rid of it would make for a stronger design.
Justin Tadlock on "Orange child theme" Sat, 20 Mar 2010 23:59:47 +0000 Justin Tadlock 2802@
Here's a preview of another child theme I'm working on:

I'm trying to step a bit outside my comfort zone as far as color schemes go. Maybe, you can make add more touch in category template, like 1 column in first post and 2 column in another post.
Justin Tadlock on "Outline child theme" Wed, 17 Mar 2010 02:19:33 +0000 Justin Tadlock 2789@
Here's a preview of an upcoming "starter" child theme I've been working on:

I wanted to toss this in the ideas forum since it'll be a bit before it's released. It'll be a Hybrid 0.8 and WP 3.0 child theme because it relies on the new WP custom background and navigation menus features.

Yep, that's a custom uploaded background in the preview picture. You can add anything you want there from the admin.

One thing I'm still thinking of doing is adding a cool custom page or post template along with it. But, I'm out of ideas at the moment.
