View, but don't edit.

  1. Is it possible to allow all users to view all content, but only edit the content I set? Currently when I assign a page to a role, no other user can even view it.

  2. The Content Permissions feature is only related to viewing. It doesn’t have anything to do with who can edit a page. So, if you simply don’t assign a page to a role, then every user can view it.

In order to give a role page-editing permission, you need to use the capability system. The following capabilities are necessary for editing pages:

// For editing their own pages.
    edit_pages

// For editing others pages too.
    edit_others_pages
  3. Gotcha. So is it possible to restrict editing of pages, but to allow several people the ability to edit a specific page, while locking it down to others?

Also, can I hide the pages on the backend so that they can only see the pages they can edit?

  4. Neither of those things are possible with Members. They’re definitely possible in the general sense with a custom plugin, but they’re simply outside the scope of Members.

For the second question, I believe I might know a way to do that with a few lines of code. Let me see if I can dig that up.
