One of the things that I always wanted to do was put together a section of the site dedicated solely to showing off the creativity of theme users.
Well, I finally took a little time and put together a showcase of cool theme mods.
This section of the site is to show everyone what we can do with Theme Hybrid themes.
I’ve handpicked 10 themes to start the showcase, but I have quite a few more in mind, particularly those that I’ve featured in past showcases on my personal blog.
Some of these are my favorites, and some are just pretty cool mods I quickly picked out. They all have a couple of things in common — a Theme Hybrid base theme and creative owners.
You can rate each site on a scale of 1 - 5 or leave a comment for the site owner to see.
Creating the showcase
I know some of you might ask me if I’ll be doing a showcase-type theme in the future. My answer to that is yes.
I don’t know when, but I’ll release it at some point in the future.
There is one interesting thing you should note — this theme is a child theme of Hybrid, my next WordPress theme I’m making exclusively for child theme development. Even the main site here is a child theme of it.
I still have to work out a few kinks, but I figured it was about time to put this thing out into the wild.
How to get your site in the showcase
The best way is to head over to the support forums and post your site for everyone to see. Each theme’s forum has a sticky thread you can post your site in.
Or, just post a link to your site here in the comments.
I’ll probably set up alternative methods in the future, but I’d like to see how things go with the showcase first.
I’d love to showcase everyone’s site, but it’s just not feasible. The maintenance behind that would be a nightmare! I’ll also only add sites that have done significant CSS modifications from the base themes.
What are you waiting for? Go ahead and check out the showcase!

@Justin - I wanted to thank you not only for including my site in your showcase but for providing such excellent themes. Structure transformed my site when I relaunched with it earlier this year. Now I’m enjoying the features of the Options theme.
And I see we have Hybrid coming. I can’t wait!

Okay, I will bite… using a slightly older version of structure at http://cruisetalk.org

Matthias and Mr Papa
I’ll definitely add both your blogs. Thanks for taking the time to link to your sites.

I had always planned on adding your site to the showcase when you were using Structure because it was a great mod, but I definitely like how you’ve taken that same feel over to the Options theme.
I honestly wish I had some type of interest in guitars, so I’d have a reason to read.
I think some of the things we’ll be able to do with Hybrid is pretty cool. Both this site and the showcase site run off it. Both are very different from the demo. I have one more major experiment I’d like to try with it before the release — remake JustinTadlock.com using a child theme.

While not as flashy as some of the other sites in the showcase, my site shows what a wordpress newbie can do, without any actual coding, and using readily available content and plugins. I use the Options theme, with the Shadow childtheme.

While I can’t add your theme to the showcase since you haven’t made significant CSS modifications, it looks like I’ve found what looks to be a great site!
I’m always looking for new science fiction stuff to dive into. So, thanks for adding your link.

Thank you Justin for include my blog in your showcase! I came by to see why I was getting so many hits from your site and to upgrade my structure theme. I hope it isn’t too much of a hassle upgrading since I am using a very old version.
Thanks again for including me and for providing such top notch themes!

No problem. You have a pretty cool mod, and it deserves to be in the showcase.

Hi Justin,
Thanks for adding my site.
I had an accident which kept me away from my websites for more than a month. Now i am back on my feet and gonna revamp all three of my websites plus add couple more with options version 1.3. I have some questions which i will put forward in the forum, something related to layout.
My idea remains simple, use good color combination and simple layout. I don’t know CSS but have decided to learn it in coming month.
I would be henceforth dedicating a page and aggressively promote this theme, not because its free… but rather because its free and can compete with any premium theme. Once i landed on options, this is what i have been using on all my sites. i love this theme.

Sorry to hear that you had an accident. I hope all is going well now.
There’s actually another site of yours I remember coming across that I wanted to add, but I couldn’t remember the site address.

the other site would be http://www.thinkjayant.com
Earlier i used a blue and white theme, then i took it off to use with my another upcoming site. I have replaced it with a minimalistic dark theme. Dark themes goes well with site containing more photos… They brighten them up…
Its lovely that i can use this theme to make a magazine style website and also a simple personal blog…
Please include it in the showcase if you like the minimalistic effect.
