Welcome to Theme Hybrid!

It’s finally here. I’m happy to be writing this first post on ThemeHybrid.com and letting you all know about the new site.

Before I go into any details, I want to say that this site is all about you, the users, the WordPress community. I’ve put a lot of months behind this project in anticipation of this day. I’ve tried my best to listen to everyone’s input and really let your voices be heard with this new site.

So, I hope you enjoy it. Here’s a few things to look forward to:

The theme club

The theme club comes in two flavors — free and yearly subscriptions (currently set at $25/year).

Yearly subscribers (exclusive members) will have access to the support forums and in-depth, quality tutorials to guide theme in using Theme Hybrid themes.

I will also be taking a different route with themes — most new themes will be child themes.

Child themes hook into a parent theme (e.g. Options theme, Structure theme). So, they take on all the functionality of a parent theme with some built-in bonuses, such as custom widgets or the ability to upload a header image from the WordPress dashboard.

Everyone can download themes for free, which is something I believe in when it comes to WordPress themes. You’ll never have to pay for them.

I’ve made no plans to cut off your access to what has made many of my themes at JustinTadlock.com popular.

Go check out the theme club and sign up today!

The themes

All of my old themes have received an entirely new makeover in functionality and in the theme backend. Just check out this theme settings page for the Options theme.

There’s also a new theme, which I’ve named Bliss because it is purely about blogging. You won’t find any of the fancy widgets and home page sections in this theme, but it has been fun to work on.

You should definitely check out the themes page to see all the themes.

Hoping you’ll join me

I believe the coming months will be quite a ride, and we’ll definitely change some things in the WordPress community.

Go ahead and take a few minutes to browse the site, then sign up!

Note: If you were a member of my forums at JustinTadlock.com, then your old user name and password should still work, so you’re already a full-fledged member!

Thank You I think your “options” theme is probably the most powerful WP theme I ve seen . Just started setting it up and tweaking it. It’s amazing still trying to get the plug ins setup properly(im not to technical) , to take advantage of all the features. Wow very impressive work. This is what i’ve been looking for and would have gladly paid for. All the best with themehybrid.com as well.

I love it, especially the frontpage intro:

“Don’t be fooled by get-rich-quick scam sites trying to sell you “premium” themes.”

    >Respect.

I agree with Milo…“Don’t be fooled by get-rich-quick scam sites trying to sell you “premium” themes.”

    My first post on ThemeHybrid:

Justin, I know many WordPress premium themes which have either invalid markup or are clone of another themes..

However, yours are the best WP themes ever, and this project is evolving.

I’ll contribute my CSS once you bring your upcoming themes here…

    Cheers,

Wordpress inregrated Theme Editor doesnt work with new Options Theme - “Any theme here” - i dont know how it is in English language version.

  6. wgn_white

I am assuming that the “Any theme here” is referring to “child theme”. Besides, I don’t get it clearly what are you trying to say…

Congratulations on the launch of Theme Hybrid!

I’m trying to find my way around here, but I have all faith that Theme Hybrid will be the best WordPress endeavor I’ll be a part of yet!

Oh and I believe Borderman is referring to the theme editor that comes with WordPress and allows you to edit theme files from the WordPress admin panel.

I like your punchline Justin ;)

Wow I have been hitting this link all day waiting, and probably the most progressive venture I have seen in the WP community. Very very nice. You and Ian have hit on something that is pure poetry…

    Thanks

Of course not, we didn’t think Tung would take ours too seriously either ;)

In the words of napoleon dynamite….

    Sweet!

    Justine,
Thank you for the theme, this is what I have been looking for. I used the Beta version which looked more Magazine type. If you look at my maasaiwarrior.se you will realize that it doesn’t look like the demo or the beta version. I know I must have done something wrong or missed to implement something. Please advice.
    Thank you for any help.
If it works I am very positive to support your open source idea. You have been very generous to all theme users. A good idea is worth supporting.

Great job on the launch, Justin. The site looks great. Look forward to discovering all the new improvements!

Hi Justin, I just found your site today, you do seriously good work. I’ll definitely be recommending your very well put together WP themes to friends & clients. Nice to “meet” you.

I love this idea, and am so pleased ot see it finally released. Can we get the theme for this site available for download too?

  16. Jon Griffith

You’re making my life so much easier and I haven’t even paid for it. As soon as I can repay you, I will.

Success is a byproduct of helping others.
